Crescent Health Solutions will sponsor a Fall Best in Practice Symposium to be held on September 16, 2011.

Myrna Harris, CEO of Crescent Health Solutions, Western North Carolina's leading provider of healthcare network, health management and health plan administrative services, is pleased to announce the election of Carolyn Coward, J.D. to serve as an at-large member of Crescent Health Solutions' Board of Trustees.

As an attorney with Van Winkle Law Firm, Ms. Coward concentrates in healthcare and employment law. Ms. Coward advises physicians, hospitals, long-term facilities and other healthcare entities on federal and state regulatory issues, fraud and abuse statutes, physician self-referral laws (Stark), HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, and compliance program management.

She is known in the industry for her defense of healthcare providers before professional licensing boards, medical staff and peer review matters and reimbursement appeals.

Ms. Coward's professional affiliations include membership in the 28th Judicial District Bar, 1999-present; American Health Lawyers Association, 2000-present; North Carolina Bar Association, 1999-present; and North Carolina State Bar, 1999-present.

3/14/2011: Crescent's provider relations team have organized an educational event for March 29, 2011 aimed at helping provider office administrative staff to prepare for the new medical coding system known as ICD-10.

A morning session quickly filled up so an afternoon session was added. This has now also filled, so the event is officially SOLD OUT!

3/3/2011: New features for Crescent TPA clients!
In partnership with MediCompanies, we have added online claims management that includes both individual and batch claims processing for providers, as well as claims inquiries and reporting for employees and employers.

The service is free and easily accessible via the home page (you will be required to register before using any of the services for the first time). If you are not sure whether Crescent provides claims processing for a particular employer, simply enter the group number found on the insurance ID card and you will be directed to the right location.
